Credit Repair FAQ
Do I need to meet with you to start the process?
No. Everything can be done via email, phone, fax & mail. All we need to begin is a copy of your 3 credit reports. These can be obtained free of charge from http://www.annualcreditreport.com. You are entitled to 1 free credit report per year via this web site. With your permission we can obtain these free credit reports for you. We will just need you to answer the security questions over the phone with us.
Can you send a rep out to our home?
Yes we can, however there is an additional $75 fee for this service.
Does paying off old debts increase my credit score?
This is a commonly held misconception. You would think that by paying you are the good guy as you are doing the right thing. However, what is really happening is that the payment just updated your account and extended the statute of limitations for credit reporting. Yes your account would be marked paid or settled, but the fact remains that you still have a negative mark on your credit report. And by making that payment, you just allowed it to be reported for another 7 years if the bureau so chooses.
What about making payments on old debts?
The problem with making a payment is that everytime you make a payment, you are extending the statute of limitations for that account. This gives the collection agency more time to file a judgement against you the second you fall behind in payments again.
How long is your credit repair process?
Every credit report is different. However in most cases we see credit improvement within the first 30-45 days. If our debt validation procedures are necessary then this could possibly extend out to 90-100 days. The exact time depends on many factors, including how timely we receive information and credit reports from our clients. For someone needing their credit repaired very quickly, we do offer an Expedited Dispute Package for those that qualify.
Is credit repair legal?
Of course it is. It's your legal right. We enforce your legal rights provided by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as other statutes.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes we do. We guarantee that all services are performed exactly as described. We cannot guarantee specific results as each case is different and results will vary depending upon the specific issues contained on your credit reports
What do I do if the creditors continue to try to collect after the dispute?
If we haven't put the creditor through our validation process, we will do it at this time. If they try to collect without first validating, we have a proven case for a lawsuit against them if they do not cease and desist.
